Historic Places Tairawhiti AGM with guest speaker Vicki-Anne Heikell

August 12, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

New Zealand’s leading Maori paper conservator Vicki-Anne Heikell will be back in her hometown this month (14 August) as guest speaker at Historic Places Tairawhiti’s AGM being held at Tairawhiti Museum. The event is open to the public.
A field conservator with the Alexander Turnbull Library’s National Preservation Office since 2010, Vicki-Anne was earlier this year made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZOM) for services to heritage conservation and Maori.
Her job takes her around the country as she provides training and advice in the preservation of documentary heritage items, as well as collections to individuals, groups, iwi and other organisations.
Vicki-Anne (Te Whanau a Apanui) will talk about her start in conservation, Maori conservators and the people who encouraged them, and her current work with hapu and iwi. She will accompany her korero with images.
Doors open from 5.30pm with AGM at 6pm, followed by the guest speaker.
