Marking 160 years since the siege of Waerenga-a-Hika (18–22 November 1865)\, Hohou Te Rongo — ‘to cultivate peace’ — brings together taonga and contemporary artworks to explore and reflect on the events of 1865 that have shaped our historical and social landscape. The exhibition serves as a bridge towards understanding and healing\, using shared visual conversations that weave together the many aspects of this complex history: stories of survival\, resistance\, and mana motuhake. \nNaumai\, haere mai rā. \n\n\n
