Race Unity Speech awards regional heats

The theme this year, Kia kotahi te hoe – Paddle as one, will give students a chance to share their vision for race unity and their ideas on how we can work towards eradicating racial prejudice and injustice.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Speech Awards, so it is timely that we reflect on what is really meant by ‘race unity’. As this year’s theme states, supporting race unity means understanding that all people have a role to play in dismantling racism.
The museum will host the Gisborne/Wairoa regional heats.
