About ten years ago when I was travelling in Tasmania with a group of textile artists, I was lucky enough to be given a gossamer-light bundle of exquisite flax paper that had been hand-made in a Mark Lander workshop. At the time I had no idea what I could do with it and stashed it away among other treasures until ‘later’. Well time is running out and it was calling to me …. So, what I’ve done is dare to cut it and paint on it with India ink…
The paintings arising are random images that I’ve either sketched or captured on my phone over the years. They are like thoughts, ephemeral but recurring and developing. They express my joy in the visual world.
It’s such fun to be making things that probably won’t last very long!
